UMOJA Operation Compassion Society of British Columbia is a charitable organization formed in 2002 to work with newcomer immigrants and refugees living in Surrey, BC. Our society seeks to help promote unity, respect, and dignity among minority immigrants and refugees. The clients of UMOJA are new immigrants, new families and prospective sponsors. Therefore the new look developed for UMOJA is a combination of clean, colorful, playful and professional.
-
We wanted to update the UMOJA brand. The former brand looked a bit dated and cluttered. Although the brand is credible and known in the area, the brand needed to be aligned with their mission and experience.
-
The organization offers many programs to newcomers. With the copy focused and written simply, and the use of crafted graphics — the new brand is engaging and understandable. By designing a polished and current look using flat design graphics and cleaner font styles, the branding displays a more credible and professional look.
The logo design was conceptualized by the client. They chose a simple and clean design that incorporates a globe graphic in the O of UMOJA. Moreover, two additional versions of the logo with the sub-line was designed - a vertical and horizontal version. Therefore, the client has options when applying the logo.
“Throughout the whole process of our rebranding and website development, Patricia was incredibly professional, hard working and timely. We couldn’t be happier with the completed work Patricia provided, she gets 5 stars from us and would be a huge asset for any business in need of graphic design services!”
